The RC Book

Problem Statement : I bought my bike Royal Enfield Classic 350 maroon colour, a reason for many to be envious, on 6'th June 2010. I was told by my salesman that I would be receiving my registration certificate in a month. I shifted my house in that period but I had good relation with the guard of that apartment and had told him, "if the RC smart card arrives via post, give me a call". I also had made frequent visits to that house and inquired about the RC smart card. After a month till the end of eleven months I had made many calls to the showroom as well as RT office for the RC book but all these calls were of no use. I also went to the showroom once but he said me to collect it from RT office. Each weekend I thought of going to the electronic city RTO which was some twenty plus kilometers from my house but because of my "matiyao" nature was not able to accomplish this task. Eleventh hour arrived when I had to renew my insurance. I made calls to the insurance o...

Happy Mother's Day

How many times has it happened to you that you are in some deep trouble or any kind of mental disturbance with no one around to share your feelings with and all of a sudden you get a call from your mom saying she has seen a very bad dream about you and asks your well being. Some time or the other everyone would have experienced this thing. Such is relationship between a child and his/her mom. Such is the purity and strength of this relationship that all other relationships appear to be fake or brittle when compared with it. In other relationships, the opposite person has to understand your state of mind through your behaviour or facial expresion or changing frequency and amplitude of your voice. But in this case you don't say a word, don't express yourself or even don't show your face to your mom but through some undiscovered means she knows the exact state of your mind. May be after birth even after cutting the physical umbilical cord some kind of invisible cord is left be...

The Pain of Giving

As a child I was always told that the greatest happiness is there in giving and not accepting things. And to prove this thing a story was told about Akbar and Birbal in which Akbar was provoked to eat a stomach full meal and then was taken on a boat ride. When his bowel gets upset and he needs to answer the nature's call, the boat ride is intensionally delayed for a longer time. Finally when he reaches ground and is done with his job he feels very relived. And we were told that this type feeling can be achieved only by giving things away. Giving is one thing and giving away the thing you love is another. In the story also whatever Akbar gives away to the field was not meant for him. He was never in love with that thing. It was meant to be passed away. When you have to give things you love it hurts a lot. Ask a small child for the toy he has just got after a lot of pestering to his parents. He would die crying but won't let it go. Adults are no different. Ask a guy insanely in ...

Weekend Movies

This weekend I watched 2 contrasting movies, "Rakta Charitra" and "Before The Rain". In the former one the protagonist takes a very voilent revenge of the murder of his father and brother and in the later the main charachter just forgives the sinner. It is about an idealistic young Indian man who finds himself torn between his ambitions for the future and his loyalty to the past when people in his village learn of an affair between his British boss and a village woman. The village woman takes her life when she doesn't get the recognition. The main charachter is suspected of the murder of the woman but he chooses not to tell the truth untill it comes to his own life. After that he is given the task to take the life of his british boss and till that time he was outcasted from the community. But in the climax he forgives his boss and asks him to run away. The first movie didn't make me think much but the second movie charachter type has always kept me confusin...

Diwali Eve' 2010

At 9:30pm I received a call from Mr. Zero, my ex roomie. He asked me whether I was game for a ride to Bangalore International Airport(BIAL). I asked, " What's the matter?". He replied in his usual way of making things secretive and interesting, "Would you like to complete the job half done the weekend before?". A little bit of background, last weekend after having his Korean whiskey we just stepped out of the house to have some fun. I don't remember who suggested but we decided to go to his love interest and give her chocolates. I think the suggestion can come from me only because at the time whoever was with us no one else was involved in that relationship. I don't know why but I love to play the role of a cupid. I always want to play an important role in my friends relationship. That makes me feel that I'm still connected to them even after the advent of their love. So we just started on our bike ride to reach her place which would have been some 3...

Freindship Day'10

Image
This year two of my brothers were there with me at my flat. Last day we watched Once upon a time in mumbai, a movie filled with heavy dialogues, great characters. I didn't like the way one of the leading lady was treated in movie, it was definitely not a respectful way to treat a lady. I couldn't figure out why was she in love with the lead. But this is not what I'm going to talk about today. I want to scribble about something which happened for the first time today. In the evening my brothers left for Pune some two hours before the train timing so that they have enough time to reach the station before train. I'll come back to this point again to tell you what happened with them. So, as soon as they left I and my flatmate left for BTM Layout to surprise his sister as it was her b'day. We went on my brand new RE Classic 350 which was delivered just a month before after a waiting period of six months. So you can imagine how much did I love my bike for which I could wa...

Once In A while I Fall Sick

Last week I was at my home town. I had went there to enjoy my holidays but to me and my family despair, typhoid caught me on the first day and didn't leave me till the holidays were over. I had to attend one of my senior's marriage but couldn't go in that also. My chance of meeting with friends and having fun were also lost. After 3 days of fever I was taken to the nearest doctor. After examination his very first question was if I've been outside my hometown in the last fifteen days. The obvious answer was yes, I live in Bangalore and have come here just three days back. Hearing this he opened his Pandora's box diseases starting from malaria, typhoid and reaching "I don't know what" disease and added precautions he takes from patients from Pune and Bangalore after the swine flu stint. He was looking for his mask but couldn't find it. He did his best to create panic in my mind. He gave a huge list of tests to be done. My father was familiar with thi...
