Encounter with Mr Rao

I reached my wife's office but her work was not over yet so I decided to wait in the park behind her office. I took over a cemented bench parked my stuff like laptop bag, helmet etc on the same bench and made myself comfortable. Then I started listening to the radio on my mobile. I would have hardly listened to one song when I saw an elderly person, fair and wearing a dhoti and shirt, approaching me. He had sandalwood smeared over his forehead which meant he must be a brahmin. He was short in hieght, not more than 5feet and few inches. He had a smiling and pleasant face. I wondered why he was coming towards me as there were other vacant benches. Anyways out of courtesy I removed my stuff from the bench and kept it down. I also removed earphone from my ears thinking the old man might be feeling lonely and wants to have some chit-chat and that's why he has come to the bench where I was sitting. He sat beside me. In the meantime my maternal younger brother called me. When I was ...

Thought for the day

There are connections which seems to be lifeline at one point of time, and you feel you can't survive without those. But time and work makes survival possible even without those.

Club Feet

I had not seen my baby ( :) possessive ) in these five months. Not that he/she was five months old and i had  not seen him, it was just that my wife was into her fifth month and i had not accompanied her inside the ultrasound scan room on the previous two occasions. So till now i had not seen him/her. One of my close friend had advised me several times that it is a norm and i should also accompany my wife but some how i didn't feel the need. But this time i went inside, the reason i'll tell you later. But first the view: Some one had told me that once you see your baby all your woes will vanish. And i think this was definitely that moment. The world had never been so beautiful. I had forgotten everything in that one moment. And my baby also seemed to be sharing my feelings. She/he was happily giggling just like me. She/he was yawning inside my wife's womb far from the worries of the world. It was definitely love at first sight with my kid. The reaso...

East and West

A half a century old man, "Nasta karoge". "Nahi uncle main subah khata hoon to pet mein jalan ho jati hai". In one of the episodes of a sitcom "how I met ur mom", the lead actor goes to 10 sessions to a dermatologist and then on a date with the same doctor. He tries to give her some flowers to which she says she is allergic to. "So now we get to know each other". The difference. "Woh Jo choti larki thi usko cancer ha." "Haan mere fufa k chote bhai ki biwi ko bhi cancer tha aur woh thk hain Abhi". I guess the amount of information shared between my fellow passengers will be far more than the the info shared between the lady doctor and patient from the sitcom in tens of dates. The old man is a retired officer from army, one of the guy works in some company in IT industry and the other is from nagarjuna college. And now I'll hear some interesting stories from army.

Puncture at btm

I have dropped my wife to the test centre and I haven't gone past a kilometer, my bike's back tube gets punctured. I waited for a couple of hours for the puncture shop to get opened and now he is repairing the tube. He has asked for 110 for some heat techinique he is going to use for repair. Meanwhile I got a call from office to work which I said I'll start working after few hours as I'm stuck in this problem right now. My bil is taking care of my baby at home and he is also trying to book tatkal ticket for tomorrow. I should better go and check how much more time it is going to take. Bbye. A beautiful girl fit to mohit's choice: yeh xyz building kahan hai bhaiya. "Address kya hai madam?". 8'th main 4'th cross 2'nd stage. "Yeh first stage hai madam. Road cross kijiye aur samne k bagal wale road mein jaiye woh 8'th main hai"

Account of an auto driver

Today i had to accomplish the task of moving the bed and a big cartoon belonging to my friend to his house. While i was on my way back from office, i spotted a carrier auto parked at Banashankri II'nd stage. I asked for the driver to the man standing near auto. He pointed towards a tea stall. The driver seemed to be of the same age as mine, was a shade darker than me, a bit smaller in height and thinner. I asked him for the fare from kanakpura road to marathahalli overbridge. He informed me it would be Rs 800. Then i told him that the goods were to be picked up from my house at Gubbalala village. Then he asked for Rs 1000. After a little bit of haggling he agreed on Rs 900. I took him to my house. I started moving the bed and cartoon on my own. Seeing that he offered help. Together we moved the bed which had once taken four of my friends to move. Pretty soon we started our journey. He took me through J P Nagar. Earlier i used to think that i'm pretty much aware of that area....
